Charlie Gibson..Sarah Palin .. And Free Speech
50
Last night Charlie Gibson had what appeared to be a great time trying to unravel Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. .. or was he simply and fairly challenging her .. testing her to see how she stands up?
I don't think I need to state who Sarah Palin is or where she is from.
I also think I can safely say our media leans quite openly to one political side.
In the interview of Sarah Palin by Charlie Gibson.. he peppered her with question after question .. ..questions that were clearly set up to trip her up... or.. were they set up to bring out the best in her?
I would like to think they were set up for the latter.
The questions didn't trip her up. She clearly and simply stated her answers to each question as quickly as Charlie Gibson fired them at her.
The wonder of free speech is anything is fair game and it was here. The added wonder of free speech is how it shows the truth of those who are speaking.
The questions of Charlie Gibson were tough. The answers by Sarah Palin were clear.
The end result was just as clear.
In Sarah Palin we have a strong, intelligent, determined woman who can stand up to the toughest. Charlie Gibson did his best in testing her. She won the test with all colors flying. Thanks to free speech.. today we have a better idea of just who Sarah Palin is .. assuring us that John McCain has certainly made the right choice.
Is it safe to assume Barack Obama will never be tested in the same way by any media member? Why wouldn't he be? What is there that needs to be kept hidden? You simply can't hide when put under the glare of the lights as happened last night with Sarah Palin... and someone running to be our President surely should be willing to be put under that glare in the same way as Palin was last night.
Thank you , ABC and Charlie Gibson..irregardless of what you initial motive may have been ... and of course Sarah Palin. The power of free speech was illustrated last night in all its glory.
The wonder of our freedoms here must be protected. The best way to protect them is to use our freedom to vote... making sure you know exactly who you are voting for.
This interview of Sarah Palin by Charlie Gibson showed Palin is more than ready to be our Vice President. She is more than ready to step into the seat of President if called upon to do that. She met her toughest test .. set to her by a fellow citizen... and won.
Bring it on.... world.. she is ready to face whatever you may bring.
She will work to protect this country and our freedoms .. our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....with every breath in her body.
What more could we ask for?
We can never really know who Barack Obama is when he is never questioned in that same manner. Is it fair to say he never will be?
If Charlie Gibson went into the interview with a deep skepticism toward Sarah Palin's candidacy.. I cannot imagine he did not leave with a newly acquired level of respect for her.
Charlie Gibson.... Sarah Palin ... and free speech... free speech won for us over and over and over again by those who truly know its worth ... those who have been willing to stand up for it with their lives.
Stand back from the emotions of this political campaign... take time to truly learn of your candidates with open eyes... with intelligence.
The freedom we all take so for granted truly is at stake and it is up to us to make sure it prevails.... not only for us but for all future generations.

No, I do not work for a corporation or the oil industry, and if you read my blog you would have been able to assess that on your own. I value the freedom to make my own choices and not have the government tell me how I am supposed to decide. If you vote for McCain you want to live in a black and white world that wants to tell women they have no choice for an abortion, and have the rich pay fewer taxes. We need to finally end the Bush regime and end the Republican/oil dictatorship. If anyone cannot see this truth they are either very ignorant or blind. Obama is not trying to make America a Socialist nation, he is trying to make things work, because it's not working. Healthcare and education should not be a right only for the rich, and war not a solution to problems. It's hilarious that Republicans say they want less government involvement, but they are actually getting more government involvement when they lose their freedom to choose. That is a dictatorship.
And just the fact that we have a war in Iraq, which was a just a opportunistic move for Bush and Cheney, not that we actually had a reason to be there! McCain and Palin will set our country backwards. Obama is an intellectual.. something refreshing to see after havine a monkey run our country for the past 8 years. We don't need a haphazard and spontaneous senior citizen, and a careless, selfish, and matronly SUV driving (even though transporting kids and groceries doesn't require such a vehicle) hockey mom.
Your comments reflect that you have not read my blog or at least not completely. So I am not going to repeat myself. My statements have already made my perspective clear and I think anyone who seeks the truth would agree.
Your statement "We have a generation of Americans who is beginning to believe that everything in life is a right of theirs" is a reflection of the Republicans. They are so greedy. They would rather be dependent on oil, which hurts the earth and other countries, than lose some money and tyr alternative sources. Send innocent Americans to war to not fight for a just cause, but for their own selfish business purposes. I enjoy being self-reliant and independent and I would think so do many Democrats. However, I was lucky to have a father who is a professor of chemical engineering and a mother who is a chemist. They promoted education, equality, responsibilty of self, and respect for others. However, what if I was born in a slum, or an orphan. I would be intelligent but have no parents to support me in my educational pursuits or healthcare. I do not think people who are underprivledged should be given numerous handouts, and neither does Obama. He believes in responsibilty of self and reflects it in the way he grew up and went to school, the way he raises his children, and the wife he is married to. But everyone should have a first step to put their foot on, so that they can then put their own energy into getting to where they want to go. And even the wealthiest people sometimes have bad times, and they would expect help because how dare they live below their standards.
It's amazing how republicans believe that when a baby is still in the womb it has all the rights, but once it is born, all those rights are gone.
I give respect to people of all ages, races, and religion. But a person loses my respect based on his or her actions and how they treat others. And I don't find McCain or Palin respet worthy people. Pacifying him because he is a POW is not enough to erase everything else he stands for. It is like saying, we should pacify Obama based on the fact that he is black and had to endure the rascism in America and our history of slavery. Most people do admirable and respectful things, but if their regular actions show otherwise I will not support them for that one admirable action.
Against opposition from my mother, my brothers and I, my dad voted for Bush the last 2 elections. I thought he was crazy. He's a registered democrat. He grew up on a farm in Indiana and knew the value of hard work and instilled it in my brothers and I. He was the youngest of 6 children and had to eat fried zucchinni to replace meat during the great depression. His mother died when he was 7 and he had a hard life with a difficult and distant father. He worked summers to put himself through college without the help of anyone and is a self made man. My father has always put a high priority on education, family, equality for women, race, and religion, and freedom of choice in all actions for both genders. He, more so than my mother, instilled in me to be an independent woman with integrity and self-respect. And he is voting for Obama this November.

I have been waiting for almost 2 years for Obama to sit down and give an interview like this. Sarah Palin does it less than 2 weeks after she was announced as VP candidate, and the left leaning press says "what took so long?".
I am so tired of the left leaning media and the way they handle Obama like hes untouchable! The media wants Obama elected in such a bad way, they are willing to mislead the public and skew the evidence against him.
RIDICULOUS! And how the heck does Keith Olbermann still have a job? After he was acting giddy like a school girl over Obama, making quotes like "I got tingly feelings up my leg" when referring to the chosen one. SAD! Keith need to give the news, not political opinion. Opinion is reserved for talk radio, not MSNBC
